Hazelnut love <3

Baking with these beauties is easy! I am thinking of making a delicious dark chocolate and hazelnut loaf – a great way to get my antioxidants.

Did you know that hazelnut skins are rich in fibre and contain 7-8 times more antioxidants than dark chocolate?

I love snacking on almonds, cashews, pistachios and hazelnuts.
How do you enjoy your recommended daily intake of 30g of raw, unsalted nuts?

Make you banana pancakes pretend like it’s the weekend now….

Made some of these beauties this morning. So filling. So delicious.

Blend 3/4 cup oats to a fine consistency, then add 2 overripe nanas + 1 egg+ 2 tbspn date puree + small amount of almond milk until a semi thick batter is formed…. fry for 1 minute on each side over medium heat. Enjoy!

India in August

I hadn’t been back home in almost two decades! Being back to the country of my birth (and playing the role of tourist) was one of the best travel experiences yet! There is so much about this land that is familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. The colours so bright, the smiles, the architecture the food all welcoming me home once again.

Hawa Mahal which translates to a place of air. (Rajasthan)
The only way to keep hydrated here!
The ultimate ‘thali’ which is a meal that is very filling. Everything from entree to dessert is on this plate.

How do you take care of your gut health?

Antibiotics, poor diet and certain medications and greatly impact on our gut health. What fermented foods or probiotics do you include in your diet to ensure your gut health is taken care of?

How does your garden grow?

Green apples – just babies now, waiting for them to grow a little more before stewing them with cinnamon and adding them to granola or yoghurt.
How do you know your garden greens are FRESH AS!

There are snails munching on them when they are plucked 😀
Gorgeous courgette (zucchini) flowers ready to be stuffed with pumpkin and feta then lightly fried! Yummo!
Stevia – also known as the sugar herb – the taste is unique and the leaves can be dried and powdered and used in baking or mixed into tea.
